    That configuration does not necessarily shut off the space heat circulators. so you could have all 6 zone circulators operating at the same time. If you want to have priority for the DHW then you need to wire the DHW circ to zone 6 and the water heater thermostat to zone 6

    After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?

    In your case I'm thinking the Hydstrostat 3250 does not control any circulators, Since nothing is connected to C1 and C2. When the burner is activated the boiler may have its own circulator that runs. From what I have seen the assumption I have is the SR506 and SR501 control all the circulators.

    Agree with @109A_5 last post. I still believe you need to change the ZC and ZR wire to at least a 14 gauge conductor, better yet, put the DHW circulator on zone 6 from of the SR506 and the water heater thermostat on the SR506 and eliminate the SR 501 completely.

    The only thing that would change my mind on that course of action is if the Hydrostat is set up for outdoor reset (ODR). Then you need to jump the ZC and ZR in order to get the boiler up to 170° or 180° for the water heater to get hotter boiler water for faster DHW recovery. But I have not seen any mention of ODR from OP @BG9696. I have noted it from others who are speculating but not from the OP
