hello i just purchased a new thermostat installed and setup but keeps calling for heat even though it has reached set temp new steammax 299 new stat am i missing something in the setup thats not configured also has a wired sensor

    If you remove the thermostat from the wallplate does the boiler shut off ?

    How far does it overshoot? If just a few degrees, it may just need to have the cycles/hour tweaked.

    There's a setting to determine which sensor to use, inboard, remote, or both averaged (IIRC). Has that been set?

    How many wires are connected? Separate AC w/independent power (2nd transformer)?

    Without punctuation this is hard to understand.   The only thing that might make it harder is to forget to use the space bar between words:

    Hello, I just purchased a new thermostat, installed the thermostat and set it up, but it keeps calling for heat even though it has reached set point temperature. I have a new Burnham STMX299N SteamMax Gas-Fired Steam Boiler , and the new Honeywell pro vision 8000 wifi thermostat. Am I missing something in the setup thats not configured?

    Also I have installed has a wired outdoor sensor.

    If I have translated this properly, I believe you need to follow @HVACNUT's advise first then come back with more information if you still have a problem.

    The information should include photos of the wire connections to the thermostat subbase and the wire connections at the boiler.

    honeywell vision pro 8000 set at 73 reaches set temp shuts down for 5 minutes and calls for heat even though the temp still reads 73. yes i did set the thermostat heat system to "conv./forced air" also set the the sensor temp to wire and not the actual thermostat for temp. Also set the differential +1 and then +2. also removing thermostat from the wall it does shut down the boiler

    its heat only no A/C i tried the cycles per option but i don't see any difference I have 3 wires from the boiler and 2 wires from the sensor

    Why is there a wire on O/B? That's for a heat pump reversing valve.

    Heat pump terminal designations on the outside, conventional on the inside. It's landed on W1, with R & C; and a remote sensor. That's a multi stage stat, so make sure it's configured for one stage of heat. I'm not sure if having several heat stages makes the first stage operate differently. There may be a "hydronic" or "boiler" setting in addition to the "conventional forced air" setting, if so try that.

    Digital thermostats lie about the temperature. They display what they want to. Does it feel warmer and cooler?

    Are you using a nighttime setback? If so, I'd turn that off for a day & see if it will settle down.

    Also, it may not be the thermostat turning the boiler off, there are often other operational controls that could stop the boiler even when the thermostat is still calling. There is an "equipment status" menu item, it'll tell you what the stat is calling for.

    heat stage is set to 1, night time temp is set lower to 70 but i didn't see night time set back option in the settings i'll also check what the equipment status says

    Setback is just the night time temperature. Set the night time & day time temperatures the same to eliminate one variable.
