To what end? To make a difference there needs to be a difference. Adding the electrical energy of a pump to "stir up" the boiler water will not get you enough savings to justify the part and electric cost associated with the effort. If there was a benefit to be had, someone would have done it already.

Single pipe 392sqft system with an EG-40 rated for 325sqft and it's silent and balanced at all times.

What fun. I think there's a good reason I stayed out of this one!

Guys, If you spoke to an engineer or manufacturers who build boilers, they would tell you that they design them so that the water in the sections [cast iron boilers] or around tubes [fire tube boilers] flow when the water boils in a way that prevents hot spots and provides optimum heating performance.

Correct me if I am wrong: What is the purpose of this site? To provide help and guidance to people who have heating problems. Right? Let's keep our discussions and comments dedicated to that goal.

Well given what I've seen of the tops of the Burnham Independence line, I would say their engineers haven't necessarily succeeded in that goal of preventing hot spots.

But I'm not sure what you are saying? Do you mean there is no room for this discussion on HH.com?

What I am saying is for example: It is 19 degrees out side as of 12:15 hours here in Brooklyn. What could be said on this site to help those who are having problems providing heat to their apartments. How can they adjust their energy management systems or boiler controllers, use data loggers, master venting, drop headers, are TRVs effective, can I replace my radiator, can I change my steam cycle to less than 1 hour. A new landlord purchased a building and sealed up the ceiling not knowing that the mains had to be insulated. I had to adjust the boiler controller to get the horribly imbalanced system balanced. I can go on and on because these are some of the issues that I and others deal with each heating season.

All those people are welcome to and are indeed urged to create their own discussions where their problems can be seen and answered by any number of fine folks on this forum!
