I've been taking rads and other items here for 25 yrs to Buddy Loman in Suffolk County. Rich, the blaster & Painter 🎨 is meticulous!   Toni, who runs the office is great to deal with  They're prices are VERY fair. These will be going in my Barn upstate , NY .

That's a "Syracuse Plow"  Batavia NY   picked it up outsida Cooperstown...Sat in my driveway for years... I loved it but Barbara said its a rusty Eyesore.   I had plans for it.  I'll gold Leaf the Raised Letters and maybe poly it??  Back on the driveway.  The other item is a corner mounted horse feed trough.  From "Jamesway," which was an Upstate NY chain of stores.

@Mad Dog_2 who made those radiators? I see a patent date on one, but can't see a manufacturer.

I'll get on my belly today and look.  I can't wait to Gold Leaf the raised filagree. Anyone have a strong recommendation for me on that?  Want to make sure its capable of high heat and that its thick and rich enough to look good.  Hoping on suggestions.   Mad Dog

Thanks. This may not be what you are looking for but it has some information on painting techniques: https://www.oldhouseonline.com/repairs-and-how-to/painted-radiators/

I used to have a pdf of the American Radiator Company book referenced in this article, which has more info, but unfortunately can't find it now.

I think that it's funny how the older we get we want to be surrounded by older things.

It's a Royal Union, made by the H.B. Smith Co. See page 77 of @DanHolohan 's book "E.D.R.".

I am grateful to you heating librarians.. The Arnold Toynbee's of our industry 👏 Thank yiu...I know I'm obsessed with My Craft and trade, but I couldn't help but give The Reed Radiator a hug when I saw this Prom Queen makeover at Buddy Lomans Sanblastibg and Painting Shoppe in Long Island.  A sight to behold!  Mad Dog

You'll just gave me an idea...I'm going to print off that drawing, have it framed, and place on wall above the installed rad. I also collect antique Guage large & small (All still work!) that I intend to mount nearby.  Our Country Getaway will be a  Deadman's Retreat.

I have a few old cast iron farm implements hanging around my flower beds. It always amazes me how they rust over and then just stop rusting, or at least slow enough to be imperceptible. Where as I've already had to replace the rockers on my 2013 truck. I know that's steel, an alloy with carbon in it vs just pure iron.

I like the rusty patina but Flat black with white or gold on the raised filagree kicks aesthetic butt too!  Mad Dog

They look great, but is that powder coat? It seems not shiny enough--maybe it's just a nice liquid-applied paint?
