Steam boiler pressure.

I believe my steam boiler pressure is to high because my steam baseboard located right above my boiler spots a lot of water and has a lot of air. Is this the pressure gauge and if so is it too high?

The gray box is the pressure control. Crank it down!

If the baseboard keeps spitting, let us know.

It shouldn’t be above 2 psi. If it’s a vapor system, 6-8 oz should be sufficient.

    Does that gauge work?

Set the pressuretrol to the lowest it can go: 0.5 psi.

Pull the cover off the pressuretrol and verify the white wheel is set to 1.

As far as the radiator goes, it is possible its problems may be related to the fact your pressure is too high. However, it may also be unrelated. You need to get the pressure straightened out first before anything else can be properly investigated, if needed.

Thank you. Do I I just push the dial down manually on the gray box?

No. Turn the screw on the top counterclockwise. Watch the pointer go down.

it's possible if you screw it down too low the boiler ma not start if that happens raise it a little. And if you really unscrew it too far the screw can become disconnected. use a little caution. you should also have the pigtail cleaned
