Oil Usage calculation

in Oil Heating
1100 Gals of oil used yearly. Indirect HW heater. What's the calculation to convert to BTU's?

    1100 x 139,000

    On Long Island if you multiply gallons by 55 it gets you a WAG. It sounds crude but it works. My house uses 600 gallons a year, give or take. My house has has 80 feet of S/F baseboard, so the numbers jive. Radiation 40,000. WAG heat loss 33,000. Still waiting for someone to make a small enough boiler.

    Making some assumptions...I didn't have DDay entered in for the tip of the Island, I figured New Haven was close enough.

    You guys cheat. As a way to get a building's heat loss, that works just fine! But you do need a reasonably accurate fuel usage...

    this young man helped on the beach house project so I’ll return the favor. 
    I told him I’d sizing and help with the piping design. 
    The HW is supplied by a zone valve. During the summer they run the 1st floor circ to get HW. 
    I get to play with the pro press again

    Well even if I'm off the smallest boiler will be a little too big. Maybe it's time to pop in an EK.

    Moneys a bit tight but that’s my next post. Manufactures. My rough estimates were 80K input.

    What is the story with the thimble for the flue pipe? Looks strange in the picture. Masonry chimney?

    I’m afraid to open it and find out. There is a clean out next to it that was for the fireplace that’s sealed with fiberglass.

    You need to put on an addition, or sell some capacity to a neighbor.

    They make small boilers that fire with a .17 nozzle.

    I'm just going to have to get by with my .5 nozzle in my G115 and biofuel has a little less BTU's, so I'm sneaking up on it!
