Hello,
there is any way to adapt/trick the Buderus Logamatic 2107 to use it with a normal on-demand room thermostat?

Um.... well, it's not really intended to operate with a conventional on-demand room thermostat, since all of the benefit from using it comes from it's ability to modulate the circulating water temperature in response to the room and outdoor temperatures in a continuous way.

What is the objective of the change to a traditional on/off thermostat?

Sure you can. I have a multizone system with traditional thermostats and a 2107.

I have considered converting my largest zone to constant circulation and using the Buderus wall control for that zone but haven’t ever gotten around to it.

All that being said, you may lose some functionality if you change your setup. I’m sure some of the pros here can provide more insight.
