Updating old convector radiators in condo unit in Silver Spring

Options
My recently purchased but old condo unit has three convector radiators I want to update. How doable is that? I have one technician tell me he's hesitant to do it because he can't guarantee that the hot water would flow properly through the numerous passages in modern set ups. How true is that? I'm thinking of replacing with a modern single panel convector or a baseboard unit, even. Does that make it more feasible? Check out the photos below of one of my current units. Recommendations on anyone who might be able to help me update the convectors in my condo in Silver Spring MD? Thank you!

It's certainly doable. It may change flow balance between radiators, but that's minor and can be adjusted for. The real trick is to get new radiators or baseboard or whatever with approximately the same heat output as what you have -- assuming that the heating is OK, but it's an aesthetic thing you are interested in.

@Jamie Hall I agree, it's mostly an aesthetic issue as my condo unit is largely updated throughout, except these radiators. Functionally, I don't know how well these radiators work as I've only had the place since July.

@Steamhead thanks for the referral. @Dan Foley do you think you can help me out before they turn on the boilers in November?

Is it possible to replace the 1940’s Convection Metal Radiator cover with something more visually appealing, like wood? If so, any photos and/or tips would be appreciated!

Custom wood covers are available, but are often built by cabinet makers. Dan Foley would know of access.
