Since you have a union right there, I would replace the fitting. The restriction by the main would give you a place to have a problem. It probably would be ok, but having it 1.25" all the way to the main would be a much better idea.0

A reducer at that location should work -- close nipple, reducer, and off you go. Easier than taking the T apart again.Br. Jamie, osb
