    Since you have a union right there, I would replace the fitting. The restriction by the main would give you a place to have a problem. It probably would be ok, but having it 1.25" all the way to the main would be a much better idea.

    A reducer at that location should work -- close nipple, reducer, and off you go. Easier than taking the T apart again.

    Thank you gentlemen, I think I'll keep the tee in place (for now at least). Fingers crossed I never have to look at this pipe again (or clean up the spewing water anymore)!!! I do appreciate your help tremendously.
