What to do with this new boiler.

My father-in-law was active on this forum years ago. He was Eleft. Al passed away in January. I have been working on the estate since then, figuring out his primary-secondary loops and other stuff. I found a new boiler, still in its shipping crate. It's a Solaia Series, by Boyertown Furnace Co. I need recommendations as to how to sell this. What is it worth and who might I sell it to? It looks like it's the smallest of the residential line (firing rate 0.75 gal/hr).

Pretty sure that's a similar boiler to what I just had installed. Cast Iron, 3 pass, low mass boiler with firing rate of 0.75. Mine is called a Trio sold exclusively through F.W. Webb and managed by Boyertown Furnace.

I'm sorry for your loss. Do you think he was planning to replace what he had?

I'm sure he was. He was quite ill for past three years so it never got done. Existing boiler seems to work ok. He was always upgrading.

Maybe you should finish it for him.

Exact same boiler line. @mike585 , that should be the SL375 model. What burner does it have?

I'm going to go see the guys at F.W. Webb next week. I did not take the crate apart. My guess is there's no burner attached. There's a Riello burner in the basement that looks new. It is the SL375 model.

If you're considering donation, I'd suggest https://www.oilheatcares.com/, depending on your location. @Erin Holohan Haskell can help you with that, I believe.

Regarding price, I couldn't tell you much, except that if I wanted it to sell fast, I'd start at half of new price

Agree with @ratio, keep price low to move it. eBay has a Lochinvar Knight 110k Unit listed as “new on pallet, as is”. Asking price is only $200 less than brand new from OEM authorized reseller. That’s a silly high price.
