It was throwing steam to the floor boards added nipple and elbow to direct it downward.

that pipe isn’t doing much. Take the leaker out of service. I did too. And others

It’s directing condensate to the floor!

Was it leaking from day one or did it start leaking after a month?

They have a good guarantee, so contact the factory, for a replacement. They did have a bad batch, but will stand behind their product.—NBC

Working great when I installed it in December. My worry is that the other 4 I installed are going to head south as well.

    There's no reason to worry.

They had a bad run of parts that are easily replaceable and they will stand behind. It's not a bad design.

Just keep an eye on the others or talk to the manufacturer and ask them how to proceed. They may want to swap them before they fail.

Even when mine does seal, it takes a long time, puffing more steam than I want to release each cycle. I love the solidness of it and the design, but in practice it's just not great in my opinion.

And ironically due to its amazing flow capacity, it will throw a LOT of steam at your ceiling when/if it fails.

And I believe there has been more than one bad batch.

But to clarify, I wasn't say throw away your Big Mouths. I was saying take that leaking one out of service. You don't want that steam humidifying your ceiling like that and you don't want to waste all your steam into your basement.

edit: one thing that comes to mind...maybe my system is too small for it. It might require a certain steam production to close faster, I don't know.

I will say that I had one out of two fail on installation about two years ago. The company was very responsive to replace the one that failed, and both have worked flawlessly so far....but, these large numbers of reported failures create a lot of extra work for installers and homeowners and I would hope that the manufacturer is taking aggressive steps to improve manufacturing quality control to avoid this. Hoping some one from Barnes and Jones reads this thread.

I don’t see me buying any big mouths with the amount of people coming on here saying they’ve had problems.

Well, with the amount of people also complaining about Gorton's I don't know what you're going to do. Hoffman?

Well MoM sells a #1 main vent that is the same capacity as the Gorton and it's way cheaper. I'm running one of each side by side, but go ahead and laugh everybody haha

I meant no disrespect to MoM, I was thinking of the look of a bunch of #4s on a long manifold. My lol was the work involved.
