    And, how many people couldn't figure out why it didn't heat?

    Ahh, but can you figure out what happened? I think I know the answer...it use to be a wall hung rad.

    It's new technology, part steam and part hot water.

    Maybe the radiator was to big for the space and they wanted to reduce the output LOL

    He was trying to add more mass in the form of water to even out the heating between cycles. lol

    There is also a screw missing in the outlet cover.

    So, that trap is always open and the radiator will never heat, correct?

    That's a major job to fix.
    8.33 lbs./gal. x 60 min./hr. x 20°ΔT = 10,000 BTU's/hour

    Two btu per sq ft for degree difference for a slab

    Rad will heat partially if pressure jacked up to 8PSI so the air will compress.
    Or drill and add air vent to rad.

    In my world we see stuff similar to this weekly, much to my surprise it works most of the time. If WE installed it like that it would never work and we would be out of business in not time.

    Its a hybrid radiator, part steam and part hot water.

    In reality, I wonder if it would heat the first time until it fills up with water then becomes a decorative accessory unless the pressure is through the roof!
