Another High Efficiency boiler installation. Bigger boiler room this time.

Two Viessmann B2HA-88 boilers and a low loss header/hydraulic separator. Lately, all I see is Viessmann being specified by engineers in my city and I'm glad I've got guys on the payroll who know the product. For me, it looks like I'm going to head out to Rhode Island to get better acquainted with the line.

Their probably thinking about the "closet job" LOL. They should be thrilled with the room they have on this one.

Or maybe their like me and don't like their picture taken.
Around here (MA) Viessmann is considered top of the pack but$$. And if you need parts they have to fly them in over the pond......at least with their larger commercial stuff.....more $$$
  • Viessmann is my top pick as well, but I've been getting grumblings from my customers.

This from a 2002 Vitodens installation:

As we discussed, the Viessmann has been wonderful BUT when it goes down, we wait, often weeks, for replacement parts. In January, that sucks.

So, want to come by and take a look and give us your recommendation? We don’t need the fanciest boiler around; just one that is reliable, energy efficient and a little easier to maintain.

Local replacement parts availability should be part of the calculus of choosing a boiler. Nada out West for Viessmann and it will be the next question I pose to my local rep.
    8.33 lbs./gal. x 60 min./hr. x 20°ΔT = 10,000 BTU's/hour

    @Alan (California Radiant) Forbes

On their commercial stuff we needed an oil pump for a Weishaupt burner on a Viessmann boiler. It's made by Suntec....in France. I couldn't believe they didn't have one in the states. It had to be flown over. and with the Viessmann supplied metric fittings and hoses's retrofitting would have been a nightmare

I don't care how good the equipment is, you just can't get the bad taste out of your mouth.

With all the equipment they sell in the states I can't believe 1 warehouse would break the bank.

I think they are so arrogant they think their equipment will never fail

I like the boilers a lot but parts aren’t their biggest problem. You need to learn their language if you’re going to install and support the product well. The learning curve on Viessmann logic is considerable.

Nope. We haven't taken the press plunge just yet.

    Thank you for the compliment.

  • I like the quart size Pro Dope under the LLH. I never graduated past pint.

Looks like a turbo torch tip. I use a hand held bottle nice and quiet.

It's important to get your wholesaler to stock the most common repair parts. If they want to wholesale the boiler, it certainly makes sense to support the product.

JohnNY, Nice Job! You'll like the Viessmann Academy courses. Well worth the time. Try the CU3A...doesn't require a LLH and is fully condensing.

I'm with you on that, still soldering. My brother was totally against it too since they came out. He bought one last year to do his boiler, now he loves them and uses them on practically all his jobs.

@JohnNY - who makes that Low Loss Header?

Nice work as always! I've been on several spec projects and Viessmann is in all of them actually. Glad to see someone is still melting solder out there!

Have you had good luck with the boiler racks Viessmann makes? We've had a couple of leakers. Same with Viessmann motorized mixing valves.

Viessmann makes it. It's nothing special. No magnetic material or anything like that in it. The price is surprisingly good though.

MY BROTHER IS THE PROBLEM TOO!!!

The time has come. Let's stop using fire and smoke in people's homes already.

Smoke and fire! Isn't that what we do?

Adjust the fire and check the smoke?

    See what I did there....

Good to see your out of the closet. Nice looking job going on there. Torch! I don't miss the torch. The guys should know how to solder. Good that you haven't taken the propress plunge. Might be inevitable however.
Anyway. @JohnNY . Viessmann is a good company to get to know. I have done many a commercial job with little to no regrets. A RI trip will be worth your while. Might want to make a mini vacation out of it. A very pretty little state with much to see and do.
