what is the btu for bare 3/4 copper in the basement

    That depends upon the temp differential between the pipe and the ambient air. At 70* ambient air and 180* in the pipe, it's 45 btus per lineal foot.

    Options
    flow rate inside the pipe as well as any air movement around it will have some effect. Keep in mind the temperature drop, measure SWT and RWT, add those two then ÷ by 2 to get average temperature across the run. Use that average for your estimates.
