I thought that was a special defrost mode?

Single pipe 392sqft system with an EG-40 rated for 325sqft and it's silent and balanced at all times.

Nah, there's a cottonwood growing nearby, it's time to clean the coil.

But wouldn't that clean the coil?

That's the latent heat of vaporization.

I actually had a customer call and say that smoke was coming out of the top of his HP in the dead of winter. I assured him that it was just steam from the defrost. He asked how does it defrost. I said by the hot gas. He said he did not have gas hooked up to his HP. I told him there is gas it his unit, he said natural gas I said no. Finally he says there are flames coming out of the top of my HP. Turns out the start thermister [I call them blasting caps now ] caught the unit on fire.

No, that's the home of the blind guy, he got confused again when lighting his charcoal grill, the burgers are going to taste nasty.

Put the phone away and grab the backpack dummy.
And the disconnect is near the flames. Hope the breaker was off or tripped.

That's the new drop-in replacement for R22, comes in a tank that looks just like that 20 pounder from the grill...... cheap too!
