I like the attached spread sheet. It does not rely on a website and allows you to adjust more variables. Natural gas for example is has a lower energy value at altitude you need to be able to change the value."If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough"

thanks for the input. I still need some formula for the cost of a CFM
of air at the various ambient temp and temp rise and temp drop at the various rates?? thanks again0 -

At normal room temperatures the heat capacity of air is approximately 0.24 BTU/lb F. The density is about .00234 slugs/cuft. Given those two numbers you can easily compute the required heating rate -- in, say, BTUh -- for any delta T (in Fahrenheit) and air flow rate in, say, CFM.Br. Jamie, osb
