On 80 series boilers
there should be two tappings on the front for probe-type low-water cutoffs. We'll put a standard unit in the upper tapping and have that control the VXT. The lower tapping gets a manual-reset LWCO. This not only brings the LWCO setup up to CSD-1 standards, but it gets rid of the moving parts found in the 47-2.
Here's a pic of a 4-80 we installed that way. The VXT is around back. All Steamed Up, Inc.
