I'm asking for a friend, but she got a quote today for two different boilers for her house.

Williamson GWA-100 and Utica MGB-095K Series 2, difference in price about $.

Can anyone give me their thoughts?

It is impossible for someone to make a recommendation without enough information.

Even if we could prices are not allowed on this forum.

I'm sorry I was just wondering if these are good brands? We know nothing about boiler brands.

They are both good mid range brands, yes. But... boilers aren't plug and play. They need to be properly sized, and they need to be installed correctly. It's much more important to get a really competent installer to size the boiler and do the installation, and it's likely that they will have a boiler manufacturer that they like to work with.

I install lots of Williamson boilers because they are identical to Weil-Mclain and are made in the same factory.
I had no connection to Utica but had a problem with one a few years ago and had to call the factory. They were some of the nicest, most helpful bunch of people I've come across in the industry.
    So there.
