Quick Steamer Replacement

@clammy & I replaced this over sized leaking incorrect piped steamer with a Peerless 63-03 typical drop header. The steam system is a Richardson System with most of the radiators with the original return fittings on them.

That "Lennox" boiler was a Dunkirk, in case anyone was wondering. I bet the system runs a whole lot better now!

Yes the system is working way better no more hammering.
Yes the water filter is a demineralize filter for the make up water.

It's funny, and I am not sure if anyone else has found this, but the el cheapo residential Dunkirks and old Uticas seem to last a long time despite totally screwed up installations. I suspect that the huge amount of splash cooling of the upper portions of the castings is helping life. But boy do they need better piping.

As always it always nice when a project comes together and gets done And there’s enough time to wand and flush the boiler out . It doesn’t happen every time on every job but when you have the advantage of having everything need to do the job on hand and 2 guys who know how what and the whys of installing its always pretty quick in comparison to those w out a clueless .
Some may think that we kill ourself but basically we just knocking it ,not much talking just serious working and a lot of joking and bs in between .
As some might guess between Ezzy and myself I highly doubt there’s a team w as many years experience that still are the ones spinning the wrenches and successfully installing steamers in this manor at least in our area ,also I know most are never done w the eye for detail and always set up for water side cleaning and flushing . Aside from us nobody around does anything for water conditioning at least from what I see and service . I know because I also aide in installing steam boilers for other Plumbers and heating contractors and not one of them does anything that Ezzy or myself do on every job. From the drop headers to flush valves on returns ,to ball valves on drains and make up filter system to water meters to just using a and updating main and radiator venting there are very few that would even think of installing or changing any of that .
Not many would say or write this but I do enjoy what I do for a living and it’s always the best when like minds and Great work ethic get together at that point everything always gets done no drama no hassle and before you know it your done and heading home .
As I always say it a beautiful thing when every thing comes together looks good and works as it should and everybodies happy and it’s a win for all plus it always a good day when spinning w big E
