Flame color on Williams gas wall heater / Flame burst

What could be causing this? This is from a 24 unit apartment, and this one heater has a more yellow flame:


And a bit of a flame burst when cold:

    Dust or dirt in the manifold or feed to that burner.

    Get a combustion analyzer and the training to use it.

    In the meantime order a Low-Level CO detector.

    Got the low level CO detector, but will be referring out to a specialist beyond that.

    A comparable unit in the same building, same age of Williams Monterey wall furnace, burns like this:

    The manual says straight up there's no adjustment for the combustion air mixture. Is that really true? Is it possible a flue issue could cause the flame color?

    An ultrasound humidifier will cause the flames to look odd. Because it mechanically atomizers the water, any minerals that are present end up in the air as well.
