    Doesn't look sturdy enough to be a coal picker upper, at least not the chunks of coal I recall.

    Millers Store in Springs East Hampton had the same thing for getting groceries off the shelf.

    They still work! Have to see if I can see how they were used on youtube. " Hot clinkers" might necessitate clearing my browser history 😁
