Worth it to replace CycleGard with SafGard?

If this was a new installation, there's no question. But the existing CycleGard is functional and the (new to me) boiler itself is about 15 years old.
I love to hate on the thing, but is it really worth it from a ROI (financial, comfort, or otherwise) to switch now?
Thanks!
Patrick

To me it’s well worth it, the cycle guard shuts the burner down for no reason other then to do a water level check. Then you lose the steam and have heat it up to steam all over again. To me it wastes money.

Not only does it lose steam, but it also allows air back into the system, which must be pushed out during the next cycle.
If you don’t change it over at least measure the backpressure of your main venting, and enlarge as necessary.—NBC

Just replaced mine with safguard. Boiler runs and builds steam much quicker. I love the thing.
