Until you see the overview shot, you think it must be on many acres of ground.
It's a bargin at that price. Built today it would easily cost close to 10M.

$22,000 a year in taxes. It's right downtown so the size lot it's on is pretty generous and it's right next to one of the biggest parks in the city. Would guess that taxes, utilities and upkeep would cost you 40K or more a year ...

That’s a real beaut! In my neck of the woods, it would be a tear down. land worth more than house.

It is a gorgeous old mansion, I grew up in the area. Unfortunately, like many urban mansions of the era the community around it have become run down once the local economy tanked and these old gem's are totally out of place given their surroundings. It's a shame.

Two bathrooms and 11 bedrooms? Not a family friendly arrangement.

I like the Jeter lake front home on the same realtors website, a bit more coin however.

I asked the page that posts these houses to share pictures of boilers and mechanical rooms. They said would try, but most realtors don't post.

Little window to basement under the left side widows peak, old coal shoot? Circular chimney coming out of the same area.

I would have guessed the coal shoot to be on the opposite side of the house, before the coach ere. There would have been a drive on that side and there is a chimney on that side as well.

To @gerry gill 's comment on insurance -- if it's like the places I care for, it's uninsurable for any kind of reasonable premium. The places I care for carry liability only. And the tax bill sounds about normal -- the tax folks seem to think that the people who have places like that are filthy rich, and tax accordingly. In most cases, that's not true...
