Richardson Vapor Replacement Delivered In Time For Thanksgiving

It was close, but she's steaming!

Relatively big project, dismantling the old one and building the new one

I know you are eyeing that hot water tank! It's now in my garage. I am thinking it would make a very nice lamp...

Wet returns: Situation normal.

Old Smith 2000L (L for low set) People used to complain about cracked back sections in those boilers. I put a bunch of them in back in the day...never had a problem.

Can't wait to see the new one! I bet that 3" copper is in the garage too!
  • With everything finally cleared out of the way, time to get to work!

Welded take-off on section of main requiring removal makes things interesting

But, every problem is an opportunity, right? Being as how the take-off is so close to the header, its convector was always too warm, and the valve to throttle it inaccessible. So we piped in a gate valve, as well as the tee for the trap test station.

I like the lamp! A little polishing on there and you'll really have something. Be right at home in my place...

Really Nice !!! The skim setup with the inspection tee facing up is cool , the boiler trim in general is exceptional.

Come on Jamie, no polishing! It's all about the patina...let it age.

Awesome job! If I were 30 years younger I'd move up there and beg for an internship, or beg for a internship then move up there!

There was an error rendering this rich post.

That surge column with the LWCO would be the ideal oil trap.
Oily water will splash in there and then could be drained out the bottom with the ball valve.—NBC

I really like the little functional features like the LWCO setup and the line to flush the sight glass.

Maybe I missed it, is there a 2nd LWCO on there?
