Installation of a Vaporstat

I want to install a a Honeywell Vaporstat on my recently installed Peerless Boiler. Which model is the one to replace my Pyrotrol? The L408J 1027/U or the 1033/U. Or is there a suggestion for another model, or something else to control the system at low pressures?

thanks -cdm-

None of the above. L408J1009, 0 to 16 ounce, break on rise.

I have the L408J1009 But, my system runs normally around 1-2oz. May need the higher range in most cases. Just depends on header size relative to boiler size and overall venting rate relative to boiler size and pickup requirements.

Don’t run the 0-3 lb gauge youll get a better reading with 0-35 oz gauge.

All - Thanks for your suggestions = Looks like a 0-16 oz vaporstat, closing on rise, with 0-16 oz Gauge would be thw right combinztion = thanks-cdm-

Closing on rise? Um... don't you want the boiler to shut down when the pressure rises to the set point???

You want a 0 - 16 ounce Vaporstat that open on rise, Model # L408J 1009. And you want a 0 to 32 ounce or a 0 to 3 PSI gauge. A 0 - 16 ounce will work but give yourself a little more "forgiveness" should the Vaporstat fail or the pigtail gets clogged.

You should keep your existing pressure control as a back-up

Yes, cdm. Wire R-B, not R-W, to break on rise.
