Magic Chef EG5A150C60-11 fan bearing conundrum

I have an old gas furnace in a rental that has served admirably over the years.

My renter called and said the fan was making a "bad noise" and once I got there the reason was obvious: the outer bearing on the fan shaft was cached.

The Internet says that the furnace was manufactured by Armstrong, and further says Armstrong may at the time have been part of Lennox. It also suggested a part for me, Lennox Part No. 20A84.

Got it ordered and it definitely too big; at the bottom of the fan compartment was a seized-up bearing that appears to be the part I'm looking for. It bears no part number, nor are there any other numbers anywhere beyond the markered-on one in one of the photos I attach. The purchased bearing spec says 1" shaft; the best I can measure the bad bearing is just a hair over 1.75".

How can I get a spec on the correct bearing?

Not a particularly high stress application — I'd imagine pretty much any quality ball bearing with the same shaft and outer diameter would work. only thing I'd worry about is the condition of the spider — looks like there may be some wear on that.

The parts should all be standard sizes. You generally need a new shaft too, once the bearing is ate up that bad. Take a dial caliper or something & measure the diameter of the shaft & the outer part of the bearing. You should be able to get bulk lengths of it from the internetz, make sure you order it with the right keyway. You might even be able to find the entire spider including the bearing, ISTR seeing them available.

This bearing has a brass center, and I don't know if that has to be part of the new bearing. Also the 1" "wrong" bearing has an outer rubber surround to take up the vibration. I assume I will also need some sort of mount, as well?

You buy the rubber mount bearings all in one peice. AFAIK there are only a couple of standard sizes. Take to a bearing/motor/Hvac supply house. You don't want to order one and get the wrong one.

take it to a bearing supply and they can match it up. replace the other one too while you're in there.

Belt drive blower motor? Invest in your investment and upgrade the whole system. Admirably, my butt.
