well that certainly is big news
"Enhances Exposure to Attractive, High-Growth End-Markets Across Mission-Critical Applications, Including HVAC, Data
Centers and Related Infrastructure Buildout"seeing this reminded me of something..
Not to get to far off the topic but everyone needs to be aware, there is a pending shortage from multiple manufacturers due to the data center projects going on. domestic black malleable fittings, and expansion tanks have already been impacted. we have to order these currently 6 months or more out. keep an eye on your stock.

Seems like any time you have a good company swallowed up by a conglomerate thing start to fall through the cracks
customer service falls off
delivery falls off etc etc.
And I am sure the people at Taco have been told things will remain as usual and they believe it will stay the same.
But then the bean counter take over. A little snip here and there to cut this and trim that and employes are pushed into other areas and have to take on multiple tasks maybe with different equipment and the focus is lost little by little.

I guess that we won't be eating tacos 🌮🌮🌮 on Tuesdays anymore. Time to start ordering Fish and Chips. 🇬🇧 You can always switch to another pump and have smørrebrød 🇩🇰 or bratwurst 🌭🌭🌭 with sauerkraut on Tuesdays. I guess John White Jr. has enough money now. Nice run you guys! Enjoy your billions!

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?

I don't blame Taco at all for cashing in.
I always put Taco pumps #1 if I had my choice. I guess that is why I don't like the change. But nothing lasts forever. As @kcopp mentioned I hope they can keep things in RI and it works for all the employees there.

I lost money in several mechanical businesses so I sympathize with selling out.

I always had Taco circs on the trucks and in the shop, but Grunfos Alphas were my go-to. I stuck a 15-58 in my system just so I could finish the NBP. The Alpha 15-58 arrived two days ago so I’ll swap them out and put the new 15-58 back in its box. I still had inventory when I closed the doors; sold most of it but kept some things just for the nostalgia of it.

Taco acquired Thrush about ten? years ago. Companies do this often. I'm hoping the quality of Taco does not go off the rails. I guess we will see how it plays out within the next ten years.

Wait, Taco owns Thrush? How did I not know that. Thrush stuff is fairly rare in my day to day, but every time I see a three bolt flanged circulator, you can ID it a mile away as a Thrush.

I think the current Thrush Company spun off from an Amtrol division in 1997? I think it is still an independent company?

Difficult to know who's who. I think there was a different Armstrong company from the big one we know now. Thrush and Dunham names on pumps then for a long time then nobody was promoting them. It's a promotion business. Sell, sell, sell. I suspect some outfits gave away (or subsidized) close coupled pumps in anticipation of selling proprietary replacement motors?

I was a TACO user for my entire self employed career. Ever Since they sent me a color television for winning a contest at the Service Managers convention in Hershey PA way back in the 1970s. The contest was to see how fast you could change out a Taco 007 cartridge at their display booth. I came in second and watched all the other contestants as the day went on. By the time the show was reaching a conclusion, I dropped to #4. The top 5 scores won the Color TV. The 007 was promoted as the replacement for the B&G 100 for 80% of the jobs out there. I always liked the lower price point and never had a problem when replacing a red circulator with a green circulator.

I was speaking from memory here, so I just did a Google search. Seems my memory isn't as bad as I thought.
