trying to convert a hot water radiator into steam. Does anyone know where I can find the plugs to cap off ports. Also looking for the top plug with threads for vent and can’t seem to find. Looking for name of what it might be and a place to find. Photos of what I have and what I am looking for Thanks.

The vent is either an 1/8" pipe thread or a 1/4" pipe thread (usually 1/8") you can buy brass plugs or steel plugs or Cast iron plugs of all different sizes. The larger radiator connections are usually 1", 1 1/4" or 1 1/2"

You can buy flush plugs for the vent which install with an Allen wrench, or square head plugs that look like the large plug in your picture. In the smaller sizes (like the vent) you can buy brass hex head plugs.

Those are all standard pipe plugs and are readily available. Try McMaster Carr or Supply House. com or your local Big Box, Hardware store or Plumbing supply.

Google pipe plugs and all kinds of stuff will come up.

why are you doing this. Shouldn’t the installing contractor take care of that?
