Cast iron radiator shipping
I’m looking for a couple of smaller cast iron radiators that ship free. I know that’s an unrealistic expectation. I’d prefer some that are that are old, really old, and if not that, Burnham slenderized rads. I found the OSC brand on Pex Universe that ship free, but I don’t know anything about them.
If I were still in Chicago, I could get whatever I wanted. Living in Vegas is different in so many bad ways. Local supply houses are, understandably, lost on the subject. ebay is not an option either.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

you're going to pay the motor freight to get it there one way or the other, either as a markup or explicitly.
if there are larger national supply houses there maybe you could talk to an nyc or chicago branch that knows what to order and can have it shipped through their internal distribution to a vegas branch.

AF Supply was who I ordered some HTP stuff from. They can certainly do it but the motor freight from NJ to NV won't be cheap.
i found some places like zoro had complicated policies and free shipping that resulted in them shipping some stuff to me motor freight that probably cost them more than I paid for the items. I ordered some threaded rod and it shipped motor freight because of the length.

@Steve Minnich, here's a list we've been compiling of places that sell used radiators:

I used to buy from Consumer’s Supply in Chicago. Rick Brenner was the owner’s name, I think?

The radiators have arrived in Vegas, but I won’t get them until the 8th. This will be the most simple system I’ve ever installed. 6 kW electric boiler, no gas piping, no flue or flue gas condensation, no combustion analysis, no primary secondary piping, 3 cast iron radiators with TRVs fed with 1/2” pex back an Uponor manifold with flow meters. I kept it as simple as possible so I can teach my wife’s sons how it works and how to troubleshoot it. They both live out here; thus, the reason we live here now.
I started it yesterday, but couldn’t finish it because the air separator won’t be in until Tuesday. I can’t begin to tell you how much fun it is to feel like you’re back in the game. I still feel the high from it.Steve Minnich5 -
oh, right, you have the hoover dam so you can do electric in vegas.

Steve,
Really is the best medicine. Gets your mind off things.
I turned 73 a week ago. Today I did a "service call" at my niece's house. 3 ton split with a gas furnace no cooling. It's been really hot here lately. Comfort Air 31 years old and hasn't much time left.
Condenser coil is starting to disintegrate (the fins). Compressor and cond fan wouldn't start. Found a giant mouse nest in the condenser controls. Repaired /replaced chewed wiring, checked capacitor, 43uF compressor and 4.95 fan writing on the cap gone. When I got home I found the compressor is supposed to be 50uF. Replaced contactor (got really lucky the local hardware store had one) and got it running. 60 suction 200 hd. I wanted to clean the cond coil but it's in pretty bad shape don't want to make it worse. After running it for 1/2 hour with a big load superheat was still high piston 30 deg. I added some R-22 and it worked fine and it went 75 suction and 225 head at 84 OA. I am slower than death and getting in awkward positions is tough sometimes.
LOL
Told her she has to start thinking replacement.
Really don't know how it ran with that nest in there, but it had been running. Could have went up in flames!!!

You have to time me with a calendar now. After that little bit of work in those pictures, I slept 17 consecutive hours last night. I still have a smile on my face. My goal is to exit the building with my Red Wings on. 😊
