any pros and cons on preheating boiler feed water prior to adding feed water to the system?

the pro is you can remove virtually all of the dissolved oxygen in the water by heating it to boiling
The con is the time and energy spent

Here is a story about using a low cost steam boiler for food grade process steam. It goes into a detail about preheating water that goes into a steam boiler. There is good reason to do it.
