    can you hear the offending flocheck close when the circ stops? Very often they make a distinctly metallic tap when the weight falls to the seat.

    I don't think I've ever heard the sound of a Flo valve seat. I've definitely heard them chatter.

    My bet is the same zone gets the ghost flow after the swap. Spring Check on the return, or zone valve as @EBEBRATT-Ed suggested.

    This is fun when I'm not there.

    @Barley12 can you tell us the rise or the elevation difference from the boiler to the highest point of zone 1 (presumable the baseboard a radiators). If its 2 stories above your basement, that would be about 18 ft? What about the other zones?

    3/4" flow checks are too small and problematic with any rise . The lighter weight and smaller seat could be the issue .. A basement zone not a problem .. The 1" flow check would be the safest to install … Next time around

    the pump second from left looks like a late model. It might take an internal check, check with Taco. Move it to the problem zone.

    That would be a$40.00 fix.

    Zone 1 is on the 2nd floor. The pipe has a 55' run in the basement then goes up 2 stories.

    2nd pump from the left is new. I replaced it a month or so ago. I do not believe it has an internal Flocheck but could be wrong.

    zones 1,2,3 all rise to second floor. Zone 4 is first floor. Zone 5 is hot water tank

    Did you swap the whole valve, or just the inserts?

    I swapped the entire valve….super quick/easy to swap.

    so I'm out of town but the first 24 hours the temp held steady. I'll report back on Monday night.

    All temps held at 60 degrees while I was out of town. The g flow seems to have stopped since I swapped the flochecks. I'll continue to monitor.

    Still holding strong. I guess the new flowcheck wasn't strong enough for zone 1 but surprisingly it is holding on zone3.

    g flow returned today. It was good for almost a month.

    it has to be related to that Flocheck but just not sure what to do now.

    did you swap the entire valve, or are you removing just the internals and swapping them?

    I would install that spring check valve on the return side since you have more pipe there to work with.

    Alternatively…. you can swap the taco circulators around so you can use the IFC internal flow check valve on that new circulator on the problem zone.

    I will put in circular pump with a built-in flow heck to see if that does it. That is a simple swap

    got a new circulator pump with IFC and installed it last night. Everything is good this morning. I find it odd that every time I have put in a new flow check it works for a few days and then fails. The last swap for an old flow check valve worked for a month and then failed.

    I looked at this entire 3 page thread. I looked at the photos I see one Taco SR503 and one Taco SR501. That would account for 4 circulator pumps. You have 5 circulator pumps Where does the other circulator pump get connected? where does that circulator's thermostat get connected? You may be looking in the wrong place to solve this problem.

    I would like to see the inside wiring on your Aquastat relay if you can take a picture of that. maybe move the wires a little so I can see the terminal designations on that aquastat relay control.
