Condensate tube freezing

Hi Everyone.

In the extreme cold, the tube that runs from the condensate pump on my propane boiler is freezing (outside) and clogging with ice. Any suggestions to prevent this from happening?

    Yes

Move in where it's not below freezing.

You may have to discharge it into a bucket and manually drain it until the freeze ends.

The laundry tub is a good place to place the condensate pump tube. Or the washing machine drain pipe if you don't use a laundry tub.

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?

If you don't use the heater anymore then the pump will not fill with condensate.

But that would be an extreme that you may not want to consider. Try @pecmsg idea first

I have had this problem for a couple of sites.

I took the 3/8" discharge tubing up overhead and then down the wall on the inside of the room.

Then take the pipe (increased to 3/4") out the wall at a 45 degree angle.

The height makes the tube drain out quickly and prevents freezing.

Still working at -10 or lower.
