Replacing old richardson & boynton automatic bleeder
The auto bleeder valve on this old radiator seems to be clogged or non-functioning for some other reason. When I unscrew the valve the radiator heats up and steam comes out. When it is screwed on there is no air coming out of the top of the bleeder and the radiator does not heat up at all. When I tried searching for replacement valves it seems like all the options are supposed to be threaded vertically, however, I did not see any that could thread horizontally into the radiator with the valve still being vertical (if that makes sense?) Basically, I think I need an option where the thread is perpendicular to the valve?

Oh thank you! Thats why nothing was coming up in my search. Plenty of options now.

you could try soaking/boiling that one in vinegar and see if what ever is clogging it rinses out but that one certainly has earned its retirement.
