Very Old Two Pipe Radiator

Anyone know how the base of this radiator is internally arranged and how the steam circulates through it? We'd like to use this as a single pipe radiator, with the return plugged. That's an 1-1/4" supply and 1" return.
It may be a pre-1890 Bundy; where later ones just had a single internal baffle.
The heating load is minimal, so condensate load should be less than its design. If it doesn't work out, we'd add a return with a condensate loop…
One section was tapped in later years for a vent. Check out the original vent standpipe on the end. Thanks for all your help!

Is there a name on the base? If it's a Bundy, it would be "A.A. Griffing". All Steamed Up, Inc.

Nope. No "AA Griffing" or anything anywhere. 0

No particular reason why that won't work, at least after a fashion, as a single pipe radiator. However, it will probably work better — indeed remarkably well! — if you pipe it as though it were a two pipe radiator. Inlet on one side and a return on the other. With a twist. Is there any way at your proposed location that you can create a water seal on the "outlet" side? If so, and you put an air vent on that outlet pipe, it will function exactly as a two pipe would… Br. Ed...I have two I installed in my house. The long one in the parlor is piped, Two-pipe. The smaller of the two is in the kitchen and works great on one-pipe. Mad Dog 0
