Thoughts on brass bushings and plugs

I posted a few weeks back about radiator covers after thinking it through I decided to go with powder coating as the cost vs custom radiator covers is kind of a wash.
Some walls are going to get furred out for electrical work might as well add some PEX al PEX and stub outs. Would I benefit using a brass bushing and a brass plug on the diagonal side of the radiator to make it easier to remove in the future if I decide to go hydronic?

I wouldn't remove any existing plugs you don't have to.
Is the current system 1 pipe or 2 pipe?

I was reading through some old threads the consensus was 50/50 on the plugs, but I also wanted to run some water and boiler/cleaner preservative and flush them out before I send them off.
It's one pipe, but I would ditch the steel pipe, completely.
As I come to understand "stub out", would mean they won't do anything until they are hooked up, they are just there for future use.

So, you're converting the entire System from steam to HW?

As I said above, if this system is steam, then PEX simply cannot be used. Anywhere. Whether it's a stub, a through pipe, whatever. Doesn't matter. PEX cannot withstand steam temperatures and it will fail.

I think he's running pex just in case, but not connecting it to anything.
Single pipe 392sqft system with an EG-40 rated for 325sqft and it's silent and balanced at all times.

Yes when the steam boiler kicks the bucket.
Next thing you'll be telling me is I can't use pvc pipe for my air compressor 😜

And why, oh why, would you be wanting to ditch the steam for hot water? If the old steam boiler gives out — replace it. And in the meantime do the minor repairs to bring your steam system up to snuff.
You'll be a lot happier… and will spend about half as much money…

Check to make sure your radiators will work with HW, otherwise you will have to replace them.
Also, make sure they will provide enough heat on HW. On steam, each square foot EDR will give off 240 BTU; on HW, only 150 BTU.
And since HW runs at pressures maybe 10 times higher than steam, converting them might make them leak.
Several reasons we don't convert steam to HW.
