Converting a Peerless Boiler to Gas

i’m almost afraid to call the manufacturer, it seems like nobody wants to answer basic questions. if I can get an opinion or two, I will pursue the manufacturer to get a confirmation.
What’s the likelihood that Peerless says this boiler can be converted to a gas gun?
it’s a rental property, doesn’t dump more money have to
Thanks

@GW , Carlin has a spec for that boiler, here:
@pecmsg , all the usual reasons- delivery problems, poor maintenance, getting rid of the oil tank etc.

How old is that Peerless? In any case, as long as you set it up properly with analyzer, I would. Mad Dog

Properly adjusted there will be less maintenance on a gas gun. No annual nozzle changed, No annual fuel filter replacement, If you have a good chimney liner that will accept the different flame/exhaust temperature and flue gas dew point. The only real maintenance I see is to keep the combustion fan blades and air intake free from dust and lint. Not much else causes any real changes in combustion numbers for gas gun burners. @pecmsg has a point on operating cost savings, but that can still be a problem if the tenant is responsible for keeping the tank full.
If the tenant runs out of oil on a regular basis, that can cause added service expense in some cases. That can't happen with a gas meter. Also, the gas company can't just turn off the gas in the middle of the winter if the tenant forgets to pay the gas bill. They need to wait for milder weather so pipes don't freeze. With an oil dealer, if there is no money or a past due balance, they are not required to deliver fuel, so your pipes could freeze.
If this is a multi-family rental where the landlord is paying the fuel bill, then you can sign up for a level payment budget plan with the utility so the mid winter high usage doesn't tax your budget, all the payments are the same with an adjustment at the season end. So many more options with Gas. No leaking tank to worry about. In this situation, I believe a Gas Gun is the right way to go. This is unusual for me because I grew up in the family fuel oil business and hardly ever recommend Gas over Oil. In this case it is the best choice as long as it is available and the fuel price per BTU is about the same.

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?

have you ever done landlording? If you have, you’re either scraping by, doing OK, or rolling dough. Some people don’t have much money to keep the place habitable. This landlord is pretty cool, she throws us work here and there.

Carlin EZ Gas gun is very forgiving and easy to set up, Gary. Riello's are a lot quirkier & sensitive, but excellent. Mad Dog

I don't understand, gas techs or gas guns? I've been working with gas for decades

My experience as well.
We used to do gas guns all the time, then the 'moratorium' came to town 11 years ago. We had a new Carlin in our inventory for 10 years, i finally found a job to install it on 6 months ago
BTW "gun" is slang, i think all the heat dudes know that

Set up —-always treated them like oil burners, the factory spec is the starting point.

It doesn't seem like anyone is answering your actual question, so I will 😅

@GW can tell us if he wishes, but I assume there are some jobs or insurance situations where it is mandated to follow all manufacturer guidance regarding alterations. Anyway he asked it that way <shrug>
