Reduced Hot Water Supply from Steam Boiler Domestic Coil
Water temp. at the faucet initially is very hot and soon turns luke warm and doesn't recover. A Honeywell triple function L6081A aquastat controller is used as a high and low limit . There is an adjustable mixing valve . The complaint is lack of hot water after a short initial supply of very hot water. Is this a mixing valve problem ?

Much more likely a scaled up coil in the boiler problem.

You can ultrasonically clean the scale out of the coil with good success. One company offering this service is some areas is called "Hot Water Plus".

Compare their rates to the cost of a standalone water heater
