Johnson control training

I am encountering Johnson pneumatic controllers every day. Some work, some seemingly do not. Some respond intuitively and some do not.

Beyond adjusting a setpoint, where can I find learning opportunities to expand my knowledge of my physical plant? I want to troubleshoot an unresponsive controller and calibrate equipment and sensors downstream. The organization has few control technicians who respond to dozens of buildings and may take 2-12 weeks to make repairs in my plant.

My immediate employer is eager to bring additional practical knowledge in-house. Johnson Controls has not updated their training opportunities since 2020.

What are the options to learn more about controls?

I don't know what Johnson is doing now but they used to have great training. Pneumatic controls are old technology now but there are still a lot of those system out there. I used to be leery of them when I didn't know how they worked. But it is not difficult to learn the basics which is all you need 80-90% of the time

Honeywell, Johnson, Powers & Barber Coleman used to have pneumatic equipment. Although the controls differ slightly between manufacturers once you learn 1 system you can work on any brand, and you can mix and match controls in the same system if your in a jam.

Google "National Energy Controls Corp" they are in PA and offer pneumatic training.

Kele associates in TN sells controls I don't know if they offer training

We have some Honeywell, but predoninantly Johnson Controls. Of the 12 I looked at today, only 5 responded to a change in setpoint.

Should have mentioned that I am looking for training in Toronto, Canada.

Don't know about Toronto. PA is not that far.

I would ask the distributor where you buy your controls.

…a bi-wood humidistat. My mind popped out of gear for a second, but it made perfect sense once I got it back into gear.

That doesn't seem very durable. Don't know what their aversion to saying cellophane was.

Johnson's "Modern' replacement seems to be the vintage of my equipment.

Ill devour this and see what is still operating, it is getting tiresome manually throttling valves while the outside temp swings.
