Mepco 1E cap drive size fitting?
I'm trying to get the fairly stuck cap off a mepco 1e trap. I *could* buy the specialty trap cap wrench, but that seems wasteful. What's the size? Looks to be about 1 3/4 to me?
The largest home Depot had was the 1 1/2 water heater socket, which was a good idea but clearly too small.

Measure it. you can get a 6 point socket from lots of places. might need a 3/4" breaker bar too. e-bay might be a good place to get one or both cheap

I used a pipe wrench. Mine is 16 inches. You can use a cheater if it’s real stuck.

Update: Looks like a 1 3/4 inch socket and an impact was the best choice. Popped right off.
The best part of this, I went to show the super, and it absolutely blew his mind. Turns out he had a bucket of about 20-30 of them with caps that he hadn't been able to remove, and we then went and removed all of them in less than 10 minutes. I think I saved the building about $1k in avoided purchases 😁
