Can you double check the wiring for my Hydrostat & ZVC?
Backstory:
- I noticed I am using ALOT of oil. Already at half a tank only 3 weeks in. I looked at the Hydrostat and noticed ECO was off. I have since adjusted it to 2. I also noticed the wiring does not match the drawings in the instructions of the Hydrostat or the ZVC
System:
- Buderus G115 with Reillo burner.
- Hydrostat 350-Plus.
- ZVC404.
- 3 total zones (2 heating baseboard hydronic, 1 indirect water heater).
- 3 zone valves Z100P2-2.
- 1 Circulator pump.
- LL set to 140
- HL set to 191
Notable Connections:
- T T of the Hydrostat is connected to X X Insulated End Switch of the ZVC.
- C2 C1 of the Hydrostat connected to the circulator pump.
- Indirect water heater zone valve connected to Zone 4 with Priority OFF.
- ZC ZR of Hydrostat has no connection. But Z/I switch set to I.
Are these correct or wrong? Thanks

To point out the obvious: the amount of oil you use — unless you have an oil leak somewhere (I hope not) — is related to the amount of heat required by the structure. If the structure is not overheating, you needed that oil to keep it at the set temperature.

So, the oil usage has nothing to do with the ECO mode or incorrect wiring or settings at the Hydrostat or ZVC?

Is this system new ? You did not say how long you have lived with this system, if it has been multiple seasons the wiring probably has not changed. The burner may need a tune up and the boiler cleaned.

The entire system is few years old but it has not been used much because I have been renovating and not living in the house until now so I do not have a baseline of what is "correct". This is the first winter season living in it.
The wiring has not changed but I just happened to notice that it does not match the instructions for the Hydrostat or the ZVC

very little, anyway — a few percent at the most related to the ECO mode.
