F&T trap or/on Hartford Loop
where do I begin with this one

Sawzall?
I'm not sure how the near boiler piping could be much worse…
I can't see what the F&T is doing… although a vent there would be needed — but not a big one. Not much main going off in that direction. That is if this has a normal wet return. If it is afflicted by a condensate receiver and that F&T discharges into that, then you need the F&T…

That trap must be expensive today.

What's with the Webster (trap?) behind the F&T?

Don't think I've ever heard of a trap on an equalizer before… and that header or whatever you might call it does have at least one runout off of it. It's different, anyway.

What is purpose of that F&T trap?
I am surprised that condensate don't back up in the piping on real cold days.
The near boiler piping was installed by the Joker, Batman did not get there fast enough, maybe Bruce Wayne could help fix the problems there, especially the removal of that trap that does nothing,

you know what’s really funny? Is that joker left his name and phone number on the boiler hahah!
we repiped it.
went with some 50” 3” risers x 2, left the existing header, got rid of the F&T on the equalizer, got rid of the boiler feed pump, got rid of some random F&T under the water line , and replaced all the wet return we could with copper.Funny story, the helper on the job and the other plumber (I’m not a plumber but had a plumber helping me tighten pipe) were removing the F&T and the helper dropped the trap because the thing weighs a ton and he was the only one holding it. When he dropped the trap, it took out every single control on the side of the boiler and snapped the nipples off at the block. So they spent a few minutes extracting all of the nipples and my boss had to eat some control replacement (manual reset LWCO and pressuretrol)
but the customer is happy, it’s cold here in Denver lately and the thing purrs along with no more banging. It was banging to the point he would shut it off because he thought it would explode.1 -
We also kept the boiler vent trap apparatus

I’ll try to remember next time I’m there. It’s nothing special though
