Regulator and backflow preventer in the feed line

I have an aqua balance spoiler system and

I ran into an article but discusses how the backflow preventer should be before the pressure regulated in order for the system to work right, I have enclosed a copy of that article along with a photo of my system, any thoughts on this?

By code, the vent outlet of the BFP has to point downward when it’s installed in the horizontal position.

Okay now that we got that code violation out of the way what about placement of the regulator in relation to the backflow preventer?

From what little I can see in that photo, you need to get a professional to review that work. Especially the relief valve configuration. Also, there is no safe discharge or safety tube attached to your back-flow preventer

Other than that, I have no idea what that arrow is pointing to. But I never installed or serviced that brand of equipment.

Edit: what can happen if your relief valve does not work because it is installed backwards

From the photo I can't tell if the relief valve is connected properly to the pressure vessel. Is that a tapping on the right from the boiler that is painted white or is the white device on the left where the elbow is connected to a pipe nipple, a tank that is painted white?

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?

Hi, About the T&P, if it is the type that really has the temp probe, it cannot really sense the stored hot water temperature as it's out in a pipe. So, whether you go with the Mythbuster video or the "Explosion Danger Lurks" video from 1942, the result is the same. It's unsafe as installed.

It also looks to be backwards but I can't quite tell from that picture. The male tapping in line with the stem pf the pressure relief valve should be in the pressure vessel.
