always blew my noggin how many heating guys can not deal with this control, seems like you have some good leads. The BFU sensor is semi-necessary to make this controller really sing. If it's a low-mass system, then it's not such a hot potato.

Thank you for the referral. As a homeowner, it's very difficult knowing who's good and who's not. In addition, Bosch recommends going with technicians who have gone through their training which I suppose is understandable given the potential complexities of working with the Buderus boilers. The homeowner then has to decide whether it's "mandatory" to go that route or opt for a referral not on the list. Not easy!

In my younger days, I was afraid to say "I don't know how to work on that system". Now, as an older dude in my 50s, it flows right off my tongue. Anyway, good luck.

Aren't they wired the same, only the programming is different? I'm not sure, but I think the only physical difference is the ODR sensor. You're best bet is to read and understand the 2107 manual yourself. Not too many techs know it.

HVACNUT, I think that's probably true although I'd have to chat with the Bosch folks to be sure. But that doesn't mean I can do the wiring up myself. And to your point, yes it's been a bit of a trial to find someone who knows how to do it. Which is probably why I'm getting expensive quotes for work that according to Bosch should only take 1 1/2 - 2 hours to do properly.

That's a tad on the fast side unless someone does this all the time (no one does these "all the time". )
Be careful to not quote that to your heating person, that could get dicey.

Ok. I have a call scheduled for next week and was told the technician is an expert in wiring these things. Fingers crossed.

The control replacement is plug and play …. I recommended to change the stainless well that comes with it...

How can I find a qualified technician in northwest New Jersey with verified experience installing Buderus products, specifically to switch my 2105 Controller to the 2107?
