Stop Leak for my Burnham

I have an old Burnham boiler that started to leak a few weeks ago. I plan to replace it but would like to make it last the winter. I want to add some stop leak to the boiler but I am concerned about what stop leak could do to my entire system, mainly the heating pipes themselves, I have base boards. Is this stuff know for being bad for your pipes? Advice for keeping it in the boiler and not allowing it to circulate?

You only need a month to 6 weeks maybe just let it leak.0

I would personally be very very cautious. The leak stop can't differentiate between a hole in your boiler and the "hole" in your baseboard or pipe, halfway across the house.0
