When do you bend a mini split line set vs brazing a 90?

you never braze a lineset on a mini split, ever. Use a flare fitting

    No brazing on mini splits.
    You use soft copper?

A lever bender will make a 90° nearly as sharp as a sweep 90° & look a lot better. I'm my experience, a bent 90° adds a negligible amount of head, I rarely add them I'm when I cypher up equivalent length.

If you have to use a 90° fitting due to the routing, don't be shy with the N₂.

You can make a Shepard's Hook by over bending a 90 and doing a reverse bend on the drop section to get the 90 degree angle and hug the wall.
Just a little bump out when coming out of the building.

I use a ratchet tubing bender for line sets , 7/8" down . On non mini splits line sets if you have to braze use sweep fittings . Besides resistance , they are stronger . Less chance of kinking .

There was an error rendering this rich post.
