How is the Oz column used if my boiler runs on pressure?

    16 oz/s/i = 1 psi

but how does that translate to oz on the chart? Boiler runs at .5/1.5 psi

Would that be the 1 oz. column?

can you post that chart, I've never looked at one,
but it's a scale of what each vent will clear for air at 1 oz, or whatever the column head says,
if you have 8 - 24 ozs steam pushing behind that air it's just forcing the air out faster / harder,
but it's still a scale of each vent across your system pressure,
you kinda need to know the rad volume, and connected pipe, or main volumn,
    make sense?

As @neilc said, it's a guide to relative capacity. Perhaps more to the point, you boiler doesn't -- or certainly shouldn't get anywhere near a half a pound of pressure until most or all of the vents are closed, What is of value is the venting capacity at much lower pressure, while the boiler is making steam and pushing the air out. Unless something is very wrong, that's not likely to be more than 2 or 3 ounces pressure at the vents.

You can't really use the ounce column for much of anything. The main thing to look at is the rate compared to other vents.

Remember, you are always starting at zero, and trying to stay as close to zero as you possibly can.
