New 20-18 Ecocirc pump triples energy use of b&g series 100 pump is this normal? I just replaced my circulating pump for my small single family residence. On top of the energy usage which I can track on my Enphase system, my radiator whistles when the pump is on, I’m guessing that means the pressure is too high. Any help would be appreciated.

How did you choose the new pump? Pumps vary widely in the relationship between the flow they create and the pressures they create it at -- you can't just swap one in for another one, even if they physically fit. It does sound as though you have much more flow and pressure than you did before -- and than you probably need.Br. Jamie, osb

The ECO is a maximum 70W, the series 100 was
at least 210W, depending on the motor size.
What setting do you have the ECO running on? Is it a zone pump, or supplying zone valves.Bob "hot rod" Rohr
