Pressure vs. Water Test

Some contractors are ok with a pressure test of the pex tubing, some insist on running water through the loops. What are the pros and cons of this? I would like to run a pressure test because running the water supplies is beyond what I want to do at this point in the project.

    The problem with an air test is that the pressure will change with the temperature and obscure small leaks, while a water test, while the pressure will also change with temperature, a small leak will be much more obvious.

    air testing is fine, especially if freezing could be possible 

    Be sure you cap off any auto air vents, they do not hold air tests
