Pressure vs. Water Test

Some contractors are ok with a pressure test of the pex tubing, some insist on running water through the loops. What are the pros and cons of this? I would like to run a pressure test because running the water supplies is beyond what I want to do at this point in the project.

The problem with an air test is that the pressure will change with the temperature and obscure small leaks, while a water test, while the pressure will also change with temperature, a small leak will be much more obvious.Br. Jamie, osb
